Yelena Yakimchuk

Certified Medical Assistant and Patient Care Coordinator

Growing up in the Slavic community and culture, I understand the struggle and pressure of being “perfect” in every way, including being skinny. It is a difficult topic to this day for many Slavic men and women. Working at Transform Weight Loss allows me to reach out to people within my own community and introduce them to all the solutions we offer.

What do you specialize in?
I am a Certified Medical Assistant. I have been in the medical field for over 13 years, most of that time spent in general surgery and bariatrics.

Why did you join Transform?
I followed Dr. Billing from his prior practice. I wouldn’t have it any other way. He’s not only an amazing surgeon, but most importantly he’s a doctor who truly has love and compassion for every one of his patients. It just shows. Dr. Billing sets the bar very high for all surgeons.

What’s the biggest reward of your job?
It has to be seeing those people who walk in the door for the first time battling with their self-doubt and disappointment. As they walk out of their consult you can see their hope and understanding that this time, they really have found an answer, and we are there to support them every step of the way.

What about you would surprise me?
This may or may not be a surprise, but I have struggled with weight my entire life. The struggle is real. I really understand struggle, especially after having my first born.

What would you like patients to know about you?
I am first and foremost a wife and a mother. Because of that, I strive to do the best for my family, but also, for our patients.

What do you do in your spare time?
In my free time, I love to go on nature walks with my family. We go camping, but like REAL tent camping. If you wake up in the morning and your mattress isn’t flat and you don’t have a sore neck, is that really camping?
