TWL has started doing robotic bariatric surgery. This is the future of laparoscopic surgery where the surgeon sits in a console and controls the Intuitive Da Vinci Robotic arms. The benefit of robotic surgery is that the surgeon can see three dimensional images, has improved dexterity for sewing tissues together and the ability to use calculated stapling technology. Currently, one third of all bariatric operations are in the U.S. are done robotically. Drs. Billing and Harris are the first to do fully robotic bariatric surgery at Evergreen Health in Kirkland, WA using the most advanced robotic platform, the Intuitive Da Vinci Xi Robot.

Homelessness in King County is exploding. The need, right now, is massive. While even just one person trapped in homelessness is too much . . . 40,000 is a crisis. Vision House is designed for their services to directly impact these crucial needs for families in our community. This holiday season, Transform Weight Loss has partnered with Vision House on collecting VISA gift cards $25-$100 for families in need. If you are near our Lynnwood or Kirkland location anytime this month and want to donate a gift card, our front staff will be collecting them. If you still wanted to donate but will not be in person or near the office for the month of December, here is a direct link:

Past Events

October Activity: Lord Hill Regional Park Hike

One thing I love about our community activities is being intentional about exploring local areas. The weather for our October activity was far from lovely and I am sure the idea of going for a walk would have been postponed if not for the accountability of others. It ended up being such a great morning and we enjoyed the beautiful fall colors and laughed while walking in the rain. It is always great to see others out enjoying nature even when the weather makes you think staying indoors is a good option. –Lisa Billing

November Community Group

For our November Group we had an excellent evening virtually. David from Bariatric Advantage discussed the importance of vitamins after surgery. Dr. Billing spoke about his most recent conference trip to the IBC Oxford World Congress. He shared with us new surgical interventions and the future of weight loss. Kelly ended the evening with the importance of fiber with Pumpkin Protein Balls.

December Activity: Greenlake Pathway of Lights

Even though it was predicted to rain, the rain did let up for a brief period of time and we enjoyed a nice 2.8 mile walk around the lake, luminated by luminaries. There was music and hot drinks along the trail. It was a great way to move while enjoying the holiday season!
