Karin P. Heusted BSN, MN, ARNP

Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner

Karin has been an RN almost 30 years, most of those as a Nurse Practitioner. “Of all the things I’ve done, I have found that weight loss has been the most rewarding. I feel connected to my patients and take a team approach in trying to help them learn about themselves to make healthier changes that last for a lifetime. It’s exciting to be a part of that journey, and to watch people recapture the life they want to live through better health.

What brought you to Transform Weight Loss?
“I first met Dr. Billing over 10 years ago. When I learned he’d opened his own practice, I was hoping for an opportunity to get back into medical weight loss by being a part of his team and vision. I’m at a point in life where I want to feel like I’m really making a difference in people’s lives.”

What would surprise people about you?
“I grew up a competitive swimmer, started on my first swim team when I was about 4 years old. When I was in Junior High School, I went to AAU Jr. Olympics in Nashville. The games were broadcast on ESPN, so I was on TV for my swimming (think I won 5 golds and 1 silver) but the highlight was getting interviewed on ESPN. (I have it on VHS tape for prosperity)”

What would you like patients to know about you?
“That this is not just a job for me. I genuinely care about them and their well-being and am genuinely inspired by them.”

What do you do in your spare time?
“That’s usually spent decluttering and updating my home. I enjoy working in my yard and gardening. Up until recently I used to raise and show rabbits (Polish). I enjoy hiking and walking with my dog. In the past I’ve enjoyed horses, triathlons (including a half iron man), running (including a marathon), and I did the STP (Seattle to Portland bike ride for my 50th birthday). I have two daughters and enjoy being a part of their lives and watching them grow as young women.”
